Funko POP! Universets Mestre Slangefjellet Med Skeletor-figur

This film is ultra cool and holds the test of time. It's Frank Langella's finest hour portraying Skeletor - I go back to it just to enjoy his tour-de-force of performance and the look he was given as a transition from the animated series - Epic. Meg foster is fantastic as Evil-Lyn. Those eyes... Although its small in scale, the characters are colourful and the acting is more than decent. I found the picture and sound quality to be excellent. Pure fun !!!!!!!

I had the DVD but ordered the bluray version for the better sound and higher video resolution for a new large-screen HDTV. On the large screen you see details that were not apparent in the lower resolution copy. Great main title and opening sequence, lots of action throughout the movie. Many good video sequences and stirring music throughout. A surprise occurs past the ending credits- you have to watch all the way through!

I bought this release mainly because I'm a fan of Dolph Lundgren. Having never watched the Masters of the Universe series, I felt this movie started a bit abruptly. Action sequences where occurring before I had a good grasp of the setting and characters. I think an introduction of even just a few lines would have been helpful. The storyline felt weak to me until about 20-25 minutes in when it started to pick up a bit. Still, I didn't find anything in the film really exciting, unique, or memorable. I found the fight scenes weak and even downright boring at times. There is some comedy thrown in but nothing laugh out loud. The special effects are pretty dated. Some are okay but others are laughably bad. The video quality is pretty good for a film of this age. The audio quality is also good. The dialogue was clear throughout the film at a moderate volume setting. Unfortunately, the only extras included are a commentary and trailer.

Before every childhood property had to be turned into the most expensive summertime blockbuster each and every time you had little nuggets of gold such as 1987's Masters Of The Universe. While not a great film, it's a fun filled one that gets a high definition transfer that may be a little better than a film like this deserves. Fans of the franchise will adore it, casual viewers may find it painful to watch.

This film in a way is a guilty pleasure of mine. But it is so much fun. Despite the tight budget, director Gary Goodard managed to make something quite entertaining. You come to watch He-Man, but you stay for Skeletor. That is one of the best things about this movie; Frank Langella’s performance as the megalomaniacal arch villain, Skeletor. He owns each and every scene. Out acting the lead himself, Dolph Lundgren. The video quality is pretty solid, and the audio is decent. Sadly this is short on extras; with only a Feature Length Commentary and Trailer. If you’re a fan of Star Wars, Stargate, or even Flash Gordon, then Masters of the Universe deserves to be on your shelf. Recommended.
