I have tried after-market ink, but overall genuine Canon inks are the best. Good, true color, less print head cleaning, generally longer life both overall, and in terms of drying up prematurely. For me, the money saved isn't worth the intangible value of not quite as good color, or the time value (and ink waste) of more frequent head cleaning.

Cost savings on something this important is not worth it.

I use my Pixma Pro Mark II printer professionally and use a lot of this ink. Two issues, it costs too much and the printer uses more gray than any other color. Me and my customers love the results.

These cartridges are used in a Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 Mk II, for printing photos and high-quality documents. In 5 years I have had 1 clog, easily cleared with an ordinary (as opposed to "deep") cleaning. Colors and clear and consistent and, despite the apparent smallish size of the tanks, they actually last longer, and therefore end up being cheaper, than the ink set in a different brand utility printer I also use. Highly reccomended.
