Jour d'Hermès Absolu er en forbedret versjon av originalen med betydelig bedre varighet—opptil 24 timer med god sillage. Jean-Claude Ellena har gjort fruktnoten (fersken og aprikos) rundere, kjøttfullere og mer fremtredende, noe som gjør kompositionen varmere og mer spiselig. Parfymen åpner med friske sitrus- og fruktnote, utvikler seg til en delikat blomsterbouquet (hyasint, liljekonvall, gardenia, jasmin) og avsluttes med en myk muskusbase. Den påfyllbare flasken gjør den mer økonomisk og miljøvennlig. Dette er ideelt for de som fant den originale Jour d'Hermès vakker men trengte bedre varighet, eller for de som setter pris på raffinerte, lysende parfymer med bedre ytelse.

This EDP opens with an uplifting citrus that lasts for about an hour. The heart seems to be composed of gardenia with elements of water notes and some non-descript green notes that seem to wash each other out. I found this fragrance to be mostly composed of sweet pea powder musk. I do understand and appreciate the concept of a quiet scent and how fragrance does not need to shout to make a statement. However, I found this EDP to be very thin, transparent with a weak tenacity to it. Its very lacking in something but I can't identify what it is. What a shame. I often enjoy Hermes fragrances but this isn't one of them.

I love this perfume. The sample size seem to be a little bit more citrusy. I like the bergamot. I still love it.

Warning. The one I received was not authentic. It was a lot of alcohol and the ghost of the grassy bottom note. It obviously was cut with a lot of alcohol. I wouldn't believe that this was eau de toilette, much less parfum. I own Jardin sur le Toit, soI know what an Hermes fragrance should be: complex, full, and long lasting. Forget this one.
