Works great with Sigma 150-600 Sport lens, needed a little tighten on one section but easy to do. Like most telescopic structures, works best when sections are an inch or so short of full extension.

Excellent balance, smooth deployment, secure locking. The dual screw thread can sometimes be a little tricky to attach using the smaller thread and the wrist strap sometimes comes undone but these are very minor issues. Well worth the investment.

Very pleased with the Manfrotto 290 carbon fiber monopod. I upgraded from an older aluminum Manfrotto models and the weight difference is a huge benefit. It also collapses to a much shorter height, meaning that I can fit it in most backpacks or carry-on luggage. Much more convenient to travel with. Recommended!

If you are into hiking and outdoor photography, this will be a good choice. Carbon Fiber construction makes it extremely lightweight, quick lock enables you to easily and quickly adjust heights (which is not that easy with screw lock ones). very compact size when folded, so you can either attach it to your backpack or even carry in hand. Durable and comfortable hand grip and hand strap. even if you have camera attached and hand strap on, you can still reach lens for zoom adjustment. I've got this one as add-on to my Manfrotto backpack and as I already have convertible (detachable leg) tripod, which I carry with me anyway, I gave it to my friend and she liked it. as soon as I'll have more detailed feedback, I'll update this review. So, if you are into hiking or preferably monopod user, this combo monopod is great choice.
