Was hoping to add an extra port for an older esata external drive. Locks up my Dell laptop when using this. Have the latest drivers, makes no difference. And now pass the return date. Makes it even worse.

Official designation: ECESATA254F. Made in Taiwan. Doesn't work in a Panasonic CF-51, either upper or lower slot. Never successfully installed the software under WinXP. And the documentation was a xerox of the original - never a good sign...

Works on a 2010 Alienware M15x using Windows 10 W10 Microsoft driver does the job Has enough power to drive a conventional slim external drive (tested 500GB Lacie Rikki) without using the aux power cable Doesn't come with a power supply, just an adapter cable
