I had 4 lights tip over in a 'freak' gust of wind... and all 4 plastics on the bottom of my Pocketwards snapped. I ordered these for all of my Pocketwizards broken or not! You can 'clamp' on tighter without the fear of crushing the plastic bases. They worked PERFECTLY for what I got them for. Tip: really tighten them on to the Pocketwizard. If you don't tighten them you will constantly be re-tightening. Buy them. Use them. You will know what I mean! ;)

Using it to reinforce Canon 580 EX mount on Canon flash cord and flash bracket as the plastic mount on the Canon flash cord connector is not sufficient to take the load.

Easy to use on Manfrotto plates. Just be careful not to lose the small parts, the only drawback.

Way over priced for a screw and a small piece of metal.

It was a recommended accessory for a flash bracket. It could serve a purpose in the third mounting hole in the bracket, because that hole (nearest the hinge)is only a quarter-inch thick and overlays the handle, so you can't place a screwhead from the underside. That said, the adapter has minimal gripping power, so it is very loose and twists so it could loosen or at least not standup to the momentum of a camera or a flash cord with a springy coil. Would have to be used for mounting light objects with an assist from gaffer tape.
