Canon RF - Vidvinkelobjektiv - 16 mm - f/2.8 STM - RF - for EOS RF Mount

I will be using this lens when I am shooting indoor scenes where I want to capture the widest possible view.

The Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 is a tiny lens – almost a pancake – that can be thrown in your bag or jacket pocket while still covering full-frame! At $300, it’s a very exciting option that seems tailor-made to pair with a midrange zoom. But how does the Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 actually perform? This review will answer all your questions!

I bought this lens in order to have a fairly extreme wide-angle lens that was light and not too heavy. But not a fish-eye. It fits the bag, or even the pocket, well and did not seem unduly expensive. So far it has performed well. Good in buildings and the ambient light inside them. Has worked well outdoors too. Careful to keep one's fingers out of the field of view!

Had this lens a couple of months now, purchased with a view to attempting some night shots. After a hiccup using my older EF 75-300 where the shutter would not release no matter what I tried and was compounded by Auto focus working when trying to take pictures of the moon. The manual focus guide is a great addition to the newer lens and the problem was simply that I was not using manual focus but trying auto focus in bulb mode. Sometimes it’s the most obvious things that are staring you in the face. Loving the full frame 26mp pictures and a big jump from a Samsung 20.3 mirrorless model. It’s everything I expected and more.
