Straight out the box and the scissors don't work. This tool is a now time consuming project to get it to the point where I trust it. There ar many other multi tool companies out there that provide superior quality for half the price.

Nick LeFort was one of the first, if not the first, people to test and review the Leatherman Signal ($140) when it came out in 2015. Though it’s remained unchanged in the nine years since, aside from a handful of new color combinations, it still stands its ground as one of the best survival-oriented multitools on the market. In fact, that same tool is still riding shotgun in his pocket as his EDC. How’s that for a long-term test?

The surge is the king of multi tools. No other tool is as robust, feature filled, or versatile. Yes, it’s large and heavy, especially when compared to a Leatherman Skeletool of a small SAK, but the tool selection is comprehensive, and those tools are nearly full size, you can’t beat this if you’re doing any kind of real work. I love the blade exchanger, and I keep multiple spare jig saw blades that I bought from the hardware store with it at all times. In my opinion this is the one to get, in 50 years when it belongs to my grandson he’ll be glad I bought it.

Very well made tool and the build and quality and finish give you the confidence that this tool is with you for life. Simply amazing
