My regular N radio wifi on my 2012 mac was faster than this thing. Was not with it for me as it was not as fast.

I used this product because the WIFI quit working on my MacBook Pro. It drove me crazy trying to determine if it was my internet connection or my computer. After months, finally gave up and started using an ethernet cable. That was fine, but was a huge inconvenience. So after some research, this was the device that seemed to work for MACs , and was easy to install. Should have done this months ago. Great product.

This adapter uses closed source firmware. It requires installing some firmware from github to properly work under linux and it still has many bugs. It works for Windows but never tested for long time. If you are looking for a linux usb stick I would suggest look elsewhere for ones that's included in the kernel.

I would recommend this product especially at this price point.
