I don’t say this flippantly, but this is the most uncomfortable, painful pack I’ve ever owned … and I have 40 years of backpacking and mountaineering and miles of experience with an older Aether. I attribute the problem to the floppy attachment of the current shoulder harness. (wish I could post a video.) The harness now “hangs” by a sheet of cloth rather than attach securely with velcro as previously. The new method allows the pack to sway side to side as well as front to back. To stabilize it, I pulled the shoulder straps tighter, as well as a load lifters, but then that adjustment squeezed my shoulders painfully; not a good solution throughout an 8-day trek thru Cloud Peaks Widerness. I purchased in Denver and had it fitted by staff who —.with weight in it — observed it fit better than the Gregory Baltoro. Wish I had had time to try the Aether on shorter outings! Thankful for REI’s return policy.

Supremely comfortable pack even with big loads. Quick and easy to adjust to the perfect fit and I love all the features, especially the hood which converts to a very functional day pack.

Haven't used as yet. But bag looks great. Can't go wrong with osprey bags!

This is the pack that I've been waiting for. I'm planning a thru hike taking on the PCT and the CDT back to back which should take about a year to complete. This pack serves all of my needs and I'm positive that it will take pounding on the trail
