I've not had a chance to ski with this protector, but I'm impressed so far. When I pulled it out of the packaging I was concerned it would be too heavy, but once I put it on, it conformed to my back and barely felt there. I expect it's going to do everything I'd hoped when I hit the slopes this weekend (knock on wood, no accidents).
