The appearance of this lock should put off any thief who expects to make a quick get-away. I make sure that the post or rack I attach the bike to is just as sturdy as the lock. I also use a long cable from Kryptonite to secure the wheels, so far all is well.

wasn't sure initially so borrowed my mates while on holiday and his bike safe in the spare room ! never mind the extra weight as it's peace of mind I want. no probs with this baby. thieves just walk on by.i'm buying my own now from tredz as I read their back up service is the best.

Having looked a youtube to see how easy it it to break even expensive lock in a few seconds with bolt cutters I went for the Kryptonite New York M18 D Lock.Yes its big & heavy but you would need some massive bolt cutters or an angle grinder to get through this. I wouldn't like to carry it with me on every ride due to the weight. I leave it at work Mon Fri knowing with out any fear that my bike will be there for me when its time for home.

Good solid lock but as with most D locks can be a bit fiddly to get around wheel frame and target post as the "D" is rairly small. Once locked though that tightness makes it difficult for any scumbag thief get to the lock in order to break it. I've had mine over a year and had no issues. I don't use with my roadbike though as its just too heavy to carry around on club type rides.
