My Cyberpower UPS was activated a couple of days after its purchase when a thunderstorm struck resulting in a brief power outage for the rest of the house. Without the UPS I would have lost my file edits and a computer restart would have been required. The UPS worked exactly as expected and resumed operation when the power supply returned to normal.
